Terms and conditions of Attendence
At Earthlings Forest School we consider the health, safety and comfort of our participants our number one priority. For this reason, we have set out guidelines to ensure that everyone attending our sessions has a positive experience. We kindly ask that when booking a session you take a moment to look over our policies, thank you.
Forest School Activities
By signing up to one of our programs and attending our session you agree that you and your child may be involved in activities that involve "risk taking". Although we take every step possible to ensure our activities safe, there is still an unlikely possibility of accidents occurring. In recognising this, hold full public liability insurance and all of our staff are first aid trained.
When attending a session participants are asked to ensure they are wearing the correct weather appropriate clothing, especially sturdy footwear (no open toes shoes or sandals) please see our kit list for full details. We reserve the right to refuse entry to participants who are not appropriately dressed without a refund.
As we have a duty to protect the well-being of everyone involved in our sessions (children, adults and staff) we ask that all participants consider our before attending. We reserve the right to remove participants if negative behavior persists and withdraw them from future sessions.
Our sessions will go head whatever the weather with the exception of high winds or thunderstorms. In the event of high winds of 20-25mph or above are predicted sessions will be cancelled. In this instance, you will be informed of this by 3pm the previous day and offered and alternative session. This information will be displayed on our Facebook page and we will contact parents ASAP
As our sessions operate outdoors we cannot guarantee that the site will be a 100% nut free environment. There is a possibility of nuts from trees such as hazel or even being left behind by wildlife, we do however ask that that parents refrain from bringing nuts in their children's lunch boxes. Please inform us if you or your child has a nut allergy so we can do our best to accommodate your needs.
Please do not attend our sessions if you or your child is suffering from an illness that may be contagious. In this instance we please inform us that you will not be attending and your payment will be transferred to the next available session that you attend. If your child becomes unwell during one of our sessions where they are unaccompanied by a parent/carer we will contact you and expect you to collect them at the quickest possible convenience.
Our sessions are planned to run within a specific time scale and in order to gain the most out of our activities it is important that you are punctual with attendance, we ask that you contact us if you are running late. If you are running late in collecting your child from one of our sessions we ask that you let us know, firstly so that we can arrange for staff to stay on as a duty of care to your child and secondly, so we can reassure your child and prevent them from becoming upset. You will be charged £10 for every half hour that you are late.
Although our activities may include the use of knives, tools and fire steels, we ask that participants refrain from bringing their own personal equipment. All of our equipment is safety tested to ensure it is fit for use prior to our sessions and will be used under close supervision by trained professionals. If a participant is found with any such items, they will be confiscated until the end of the session to ensure the safety of the whole group.
Cancellations & refunds
In the unlikely event that our sessions are cancelled you will be offered an alternative session, not a refund. If for any reason you need to cancel a booking you will need to inform us ASAP so your space can be offered to someone else. A refund will only be offered with a minimum 7 days’ notice otherwise, we will be unable to offer you a refund.
